Policies:
There is a formal process for new referrals whereby all clients must have an official diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (which may include Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder). The student must be agreeable to receiving individualized services based on this disability. A one time $100.00 intake fee is applied to compensate for review of information, consideration, and planning for the case. If the client decides to cancel services agreed upon in the contract, this fee is non-refundable and hours logged directly with the client will remain due.
If the student has not had adequate awareness training regarding their disability it will be necessary for them to gain that understanding through one-to-one sessions with a professional before beginning services. Aspiring Aspies, L.L.C. can provide this in approximately one to two sessions at the individual session rate;however, these sessions must be completed before other goals are set.
A signed contract will precede all services to outline the agreed upon fees and services. After the contract is exhausted, renewal of services at a per diem rate is possible when deemed by both parties as appropriate.
If a client is late for an appointment, charges will begin at designated time of session. If the session goes over time to meet goals, hourly fee will be pro-rated. Outstanding invoices result in suspension of services until invoice is paid.
Contract Rules: The contract is a legally binding agreement outlining the terms and rates of services provided by Aspiring Aspies, L.L.C. When a contract is made with a client, they are confirmed a specific session day & time of the week. This is their “slot” that is guaranteed for the length of that contract. When it is time to consider renewal, Laurie will offer that same slot without promising it to another family; however, if a client cancels their contract for any reason or does not renew another contract, that slot is available. The slot will be offered to a current client in need of a slot change and then to the first client on the waiting list. If a session slot is offered that does not work into a wait-listed family’s schedule, they have the right to turn it down to wait for something that aligns with their needs. This client will remain on the waiting list and be given the next open slot to consider.
The contract also dictates the fee schedule. If a client continues to renew their contract, they are guaranteed the rates that were in effect at the original intake. Returning clients who may have taken a break from services will be held to the current fee schedule. The initial meeting may occur with students alone or with their families in order to provide the coach with updates that occurred during the break. Regardless of who attends the meeting, the fee for this and all subsequent sessions with the student is at the rate charged per hour for coaching services. An intake fee will not be charged for returning clients.
